Administrative Support Staff
The Administrative Sergeant oversees the 3 civilian personnel assigned to this unit: 1 Administrative Assistant and 2 Police Clerks. These personnel are responsible for assisting the public at the front counter and on the phone in regards to all aspects of the Police Department. They distribute and maintain the department's police case reports and respond to all public, insurance and other agency dissemination requests. They fingerprint citizens for various purposes such as licensing, employment and adoptions. They oversee the Evidence/Property Room with intake of items as well as facilitating item release. The personnel in this unit are also responsible for various police administrative functions to include accounts payable, payroll and inventory.
Detective
Officers assigned to this unit are responsible for the follow-up investigations that are primarily felony in nature and have been the result of initial reports taken by personnel assigned to the Patrol Division. Additionally, these individuals receive specialized training in processing crime scenes.
Evidence Custodian
Personnel assigned to this specialized area are responsible for the maintenance, tracking, security, and processing of all evidence or property collected by the Department. They are also responsible for facilitating those items for destruction, sale or return to owner.
Records
Civilian personnel assigned to this unit are responsible for the integrity, security and maintenance of the records system that supports all of the components making up the Poulsbo Police Department.
Crime Prevention
Personnel assigned to this unit are responsible for direct community-oriented programs such as Crime Stoppers, Crime Prevention, and Citizen Volunteer Programs.
