Police Department > Community Oriented Policing

Community Oriented Policing means forging a partnership and relationship between the police and community to control crime. Problem Oriented Policing means focusing on a problem and devising a strategy that brings available resources to bear to arrive at a  long-term solution.

In an attempt to maximize our effectiveness within our “logistic constraints”, our geographical area Sergeants will be divided into three working area Sectors.  The Sergeants are tasked with familiarizing themselves with their assigned Sectors and understanding the challenges facing those areas and their effect on the citizens. Sergeants will act as the contact point for citizens in those Sectors. Sergeants will utilize available resources and man-power to address concerns, problems and complaints for their assigned Sectors.

Click on the Sectors to the right to find common markers of each area as well as designated officers.
