Thank you for you continued interest in the City of Poulsbo's Comprehensive Plan Update. The Draft Comprehensive Plan will be available for public viewing in early February, at the Project Poulsbo website. Phase 2 of the project will include a community forum to provide input on the Draft Comprehensive Plan and the development of the Final Draft Plan. For more detail, see the project schedule below.

About Project Poulsbo Comprehensive Plan Update
In the face of continued growth, the City seeks to shape its future in ways that will maintain the quality of life that makes Poulsbo a special place to live and work. To effectively guide the City in its development decisions as well as meet State planning requirements, the City of Poulsbo is updating its Comprehensive Plan. The Poulsbo Comprehensive Plan is a reflection of the wide variety of individual and community desires, needs, and aspirations all within the context of the goals and requirements of the Growth Management Act (GMA). The Comprehensive Plan is a high-level document that guides other City actions (click here for more information). The City of Poulsbo's Comprehensive Plan is not a static document and will continue to evolve along with changing community needs, unforeseen circumstances and new local or regional trends.

Community Involvement
Community feedback is an integral component of the Comprehensive Plan Update. The Mayor and Council are looking for residents to contribute to the vision and policies that guide the Comprehensive Plan and more importantly shape our community. Plan Development Update: Summer 2007
The Plan will be developed through a three-phase project that will involve significant public outreach (as seen in the schedule below). Thanks to incredible participation from the Poulsbo community, the first phase of public outreach for the Comprehensive Plan Update was very successful. In May 2007, the City convened two community conversations and as well as obtained public input through a community questionnaire. In total, the City heard from almost 300 residents. A draft Vision Statement, Guiding Principles, and Key Goals for the City were drafted based on feedback from the community. The City Council and Planning Commission reviewed the draft materials at a joint workshop on June 27, 2007. To view the current working draft, please click here.
Based on community feedback, the draft Vision, Guiding Principles, and Key Goals, and additional technical analysis to be completed, the City will spend the summer and fall crafting a draft Comprehensive Plan for public comment.
