Parks and Cemetery

The Parks Department provides maintenance and repair to the City's parks and open spaces in order to provide the citizens of Poulsbo with a high quality and safe recreation experience.

Parks

The Parks department under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent is responsible for the management and maintenance of the City of Poulsbo's municipal parks, together with open space facilities located within the city. Major facilities include:

  • Lions Park
  • American Legion Park
  • Wilderness Park
  • Raab Park
  • Nelson Park
  • Mitchusson Park
  • Liberty Bay Park
  • Betty Iverson Kiwanis Park

And,

  • County Road and Moe Street trails
  • Forest Rock Hills Park
  • Austerbruin open spaces
  • Oyster Plant Park

Cemetery

The mission of the Cemetery is to provide the continued maintenance and upkeep of the City of Poulsbo's Municipal Cemetery.

Maintenance of the cemetery is accomplished utilizing full-time and casual labor supervised by the Public Works Office Manager and Assistant Superintendent. Activities include:

  • Maintenance of cemetery records and maps to include lot ownership records and burials
  • The sale of cemetery lots
  • Plot locating and marking
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the facilities including grave markers and grounds
  • Assist the public in records research and investigations

In August 2002, the City Council approved an increase in cemetery fees. Full burial plots went from $200 to $400 and cremain plots from $100 to $200.
