Downtown Employee Parking Details
Starting November 1, 2025, the City of Poulsbo in partnership with LAZ Parking will be incorporating designated and shared parking areas for employees working in businesses in Downtown Poulsbo. Registered employees will have free parking but only in these designated areas.
As an improvement to the current system, over 250 parking spaces will be available for employees. The map and list shown below will be updated as the city continues to develop agreements to provide additional employee parking areas.
Please be aware of the signage in the zone in which you are parking.
Current list of employee-only designated parking spots:
- King Olaf Parking Lot (back section)
- Lot next door to Poulsbo Post Office (off of Jensen Way)
- Lower lot of Poulsbo Parks & Recreation (off of Front Street)
Current list of shared parking spots (employee/customer) on a first come first served basis:
- 3rd Avenue from Hostmark to Moe Street
- Moe Street
- Jensen Way (north of Iverson Street)
- Front Street (north of King Olaf Parking Lot)
Supplemental available:
- Gateway Fellowship in Kitsap Transit spots on a first come first served basis
A two-week warning period will occur before citations are issued.
Overtime parking fines will be $60.
Other parking violations will be up to $250, including parking in employee-only spaces without authorization.

Where Should Employees Park?
Designated employees will need to park in designated areas. Please see attached map as reference. Areas include: designated area in the King Olaf Parking Lot, 3rd Ave., Moe St., Jensen Way (north of Iverson St.), north side of Front Street (spaces located north of the King Olaf lot), and the Post Office. There is also additional parking at the Gateway Fellowship Park and Ride where there are buses that can take employees into Downtown: https://www.kitsaptransit.com/service/routed-buses. The City is also actively seeking additional employee parking spaces.
Why Are We Being Asked to Park in Designated Areas Only?
There are a few answers: It helps businesses by keeping customer parking available; Designated areas are part of a smart parking system that tracks availability so that everyone has a fair chance of finding parking; It keeps traffic flowing smoothly and avoiding congestion.
How Am I Identified as a Designated Employee, and How Do I Register or Update My License Plate on file?
Speak to the owner/manager of the business where you work. They will be able to assist you with this.
Are Parking Limits Enforced on Holidays?
No, parking limit enforcement is suspended on city and federal holidays.
What If I Have A Disabled Placard?
You may park in any marked ADA parking space but you MUST have your valid placard visibly displayed.
