Poulsbo Police Department
MEANINGFUL POLICE REFORM
The Poulsbo Police Department supports efforts for meaningful police reform. We continually examine our policies and practices and invite the kind of community engagement that empowers voices to be heard. Our department understands that our ability to be successful as Law Enforcement Professionals requires forging relationships of trust with the community we serve. We understand that trusting relationships compels us to be responsive to the needs of our community, actively listening to issues or practices that the community wants to examine. It also requires that we must engage in open and transparent discussions with the community, leading to both the department and the community working together to affect change where possible.
The video below, produced by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC), provides an outline of the police reforms that both WASPC and the Poulsbo Police Department believe in and support. The department hopes that this video gives the community a glimpse into the reform work that law enforcement is already supportive of and working towards, so that we can work together as a whole in making those changes.
