Basketball: 2022 Winter Basketball Leagues, forming Poulsbo and Kingston teams!
Note: to allow access to gyms for practices and actual inter-league games, all participants, coaches, and parents/adults will be masked 100% of the time. Also, for entry to gyms for practices and games, each player can escort one adult (no siblings) into the gym. No exceptions.
Update on Winter Recreation League, Jan 20, 2022:
We are finally going to get our winter basketball program practicing!! We have reviewed conditions with NKSD Facilities to ensure we have a fighting chance to make a practice schedule work in the schools. Understand that the custodial staff at each school, and with the district as a whole, has been severely hit by current conditions. But, they are working hard to make the schools safe and accessible for school and community use.
How we use the gyms during this tough time will dictate how the season will continue. Everyone is tasked with understanding and following our Covid requirements for use of gyms. Each athlete can escort one parent/adult into the gym. NO siblings! No coffees, food, etc. Water only for the athlete. Everyone is masked, even during practices, 100% of the time. Coach and/or the team should walk the gym at the completion of their practice to ensure everything is picked up. These steps work. Please leave the gym in better condition than when you entered.
Coaches should get there about 10 min early to ensure the gym is open. Sometimes you have to hunt down the janitor to get things rolling. The first couple weeks will be a bit chaotic, considering we have not had community programs indoors in almost 2 years!
PARENTS! PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF PLAYERS OUTDOORS AND LEAVE! Parents should turnover players directly to the coach in the gym.
We are still taking registrations for any players that would like to join the league, for teams that need players. And, we need coaches for a 3rd grade boys team and a 6-8th grade girls team.
Thanks for your patience and determination to get sports rolling again!!!
