Sports Programs & Leagues
Whether your sport is basketball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, or even pickleball, you’ll love playing in a Poulsbo Parks and Recreation sports program. We have programs for everyone!
Open gym Basketball: (18 yrs +) ongoing at Poulsbo Middle School, Sunday evenings, 6-8pm. $3 drop in fee, paid at the gym, cash only.
Open gym Pickleball!!! WIll pick back up September 8th. Cancelled for the summer due to maintenance at KMS. Restart will be at Kingston Middle School, Sept. 8th, 3:30-5:30pm. $3 drop in fee, paid at the gym, cash only. Bring your paddles and experience a great game started here in the Northwest!
Basketball: Winter Basketball Leagues, forming Poulsbo and Kingston teams!
Dec/Jan practices & Sunday games: League is complete prior to starting your school game schedule!
Registrations are being taken now! This is the league to prepare for school tryouts!
Games will be held on Sundays and team practices can start as early as Nov 4th! Practices for girls in 7/8th grade run all of November till the mid-January, finishing in conjunction your school team’s season start. Games are double headers on Sundays in local HS and MS gyms. Games start the weekend of Dec 1st and continue to a playoff the weekend of Jan 25/26. Minimum 9 games, which include playoff games. No games Dec 22, Dec 29, Jan 19.
Practices start mid-Nov, games held Dec 14, 21; Jan 11, 18, 25; Feb 1. Playoffs Saturdays, Feb 8 and 15th! Not available to players on HS basketball teams. Fee: $139*. Click here to register online! or print a registration form and come to Parks and register!
This is your basketball league!! Divisions by grade and gender, with each player getting a ball! Signups ongoing now! Returning players can ensure the return to last year’s team by signing up before Nov 8th. Teams, when formed, can start practices as early as the week of Dec 2nd. Games are Saturdays, starting Jan 11th. Most 2/3rd grade games will be at Vinland and most 4/5th grade games will be at Kingston Middle School. Fee: 2nd thru 4th grade is $129 and 5th grade is $139. We will have a 6th grade boys division, a 7/8th grade boys division, and a 6-8th grade girls division. All teams get a minimum of 8 games, which includes a playoff the last two weeks of the season (March 2-March 14.) For the boys, your school season will be over well before our game schedule starts!! Continue your play with your buddies in this great league!! For the girls, if you are not playing school ball, you can still get quality time on the court with this league!! 2 practices per week, with games on Saturdays!! Volleyball Winter Clinic: Girls: Grades 3-8
Parks and Rec will be hosting a Volleyball Training Clinic using instructors from Kitsap Volleyball Club this winter! We will be teaching basic to advanced techniques for girls in grades 3-8. The different skill sets that will be covered are passing, setting, hitting, individual defense, and serving, focusing on proper techniques! Find a new way to improve your game, whether you are a recreational player or a competitive one! North Kitsap School District Gyms.
Six Saturdays, scheduled between Jan 18-Mar 7th; Set dates are 1/18, remainder to be announced.
Instructors may reassign girls based on skill during first clinic day.
Grades 3-5 5:30 6:45and Grades 6-8: 6:45-8:15p, dual courts.
Volleyball: Spring Girls Training Program!
Girls, Grades 2-4th
Registration starts in February!
Here is your start into volleyball!! This is an 8 week session, practicing Mon and Wed, 5:15-6:45, Vinland, geared to introduce and train your young player in volleyball skills! Our goal; create a love of the game, and give the girls the basic skills to compete in match play. We use reduced height nets and volleylites through the training. Skills and internal scrimmages will be worked on throughout the session.
