The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to enrich the quality of life by serving the community’s needs for quality and affordable educational and recreational programs, parks and services to all residents and visitors.
It is the vision of the Poulsbo Parks and Recreation Department to be the heart of a healthy community through sustainable, safe, and diverse programs and open spaces, where all residents and visitors feel inspired to live, play, learn, and thrive.

Poulsbo Parks and Recreation typically offers a full range of classes, activities, sports programs, and camps for all ages; rents out facilities at city parks and at the recreation center; and manages 17 city parks totaling 133 acres and 6 miles of trails. Due to Covid 19 impacts, programs are limited at this time.

COVID-19 Impacts at Poulsbo Parks & Recreation- Updated 9/22/21
The Recreation Center is now open for walk-in assistance and we are excited to be able to see you in person again! Office hours are 8-11:30a & 12-4p. We continue to be available by phone and e-mail as well.
Masks are required by all those ages 2 and older while at the Recreation Center.
We are continuing to offer programs outdoors, online and indoors in small group settings. Visit CityofPoulsbo.com/Register for current program offerings. Each class or program on the schedule has been reviewed to determine if they can be done safely while respecting protocols and social distancing.
City of Poulsbo Parks
City parks and trails are open from dawn-to-dusk. Family restrooms are available at M. Williams Waterfront Park, Lions, Nelson, and Raab Parks. The restroom at American Legion Park remains closed for now. Please wear masks and respect social distancing while visiting and walking city trails and parks. If you are not feeling well, please stay home.
Reservations are being taken for the picnic shelters at Raab and Nelson Parks and Austin-Kvelstad Pavilion at M. Williams Waterfront Park .

Weather issues may cause delays or cancellations of programs. We make every effort to send emails if this happens, but please feel free to call ahead if you have questions. Some days we may need to close early.

If you enjoy visiting Poulsbo’s beautiful parks or take part in some of the recreational activities and special events that are hosted in Poulsbo each year, you now have a new way to become involved from the ground level. We are becoming more efficient in how we get information to you! We have halted the production of the paper versions of our Activity Guide and our no longer mailing them out. A pdf version is available by clicking on the Class & Activity Guide quick link to your right, and we are encouraging people to view our online catalog and register online. Poulsbo Parks and Recreation offices are located at 19540 Front Street, just one block north of Martha and Mary Health Care Center. The Recreation Center is now open for in-person service Mon-Fri, 8a-4p, and closed for lunch from 11:30a-12p.
