Parks & Recreation Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Application Form

Volunteers allow Poulsbo Parks and Recreation to offer a full array of affordable recreational and educational programs. Volunteers also contribute hours of time to maintain and improve our parks and trails. Areas of volunteer interest include special events, coaching, athletics, gym supervision, arts and clerical work. Our volunteers range in age and many times work directly with the public in providing customer service to the community. Our volunteers do tremendous work and have great fun as well.

Some volunteer positions require special background checks or official appointment; other opportunities are open to all individuals and groups. We appreciate your interest and look forward to discussing these opportunities with you.

Classes that will be needing volunteer Interns include after-school programs, preschool classes and preschool sports and gymnastics classes. Not all applicants may be chosen for classes. Volunteer Opportunities at Poulsbo’s Fish Park

Please join members of Poulsbo’s Fish Park steering committee each month to do needed park tasks. These stewardship activities add value to our community, both in commitment and matching time for state grants.  These events are great for the whole family, and are held the 3rd Sunday of each month from 1:00-4:00 pm at the park. Volunteers will be kept in small groups, with masks and social distancing required. Would you like to be added to our mailing list for reminders? E-mail phightower@cityofpoulsbo.com.

Program & Event Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer form (link at the top of the page) or contact Poulsbo Parks and Recreation. Once received, we will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities. If an appropriate placement cannot be arranged at that time, we will keep your application on file for up to one year. As opportunities become available, we will notify you.

The application form includes a background check through the Washington State Patrol. Some of the positions require that we run the background check, while others do not. We appreciate your attention to filling out these two very important forms. Our volunteer screening process is a crucial step in assuring your safety as well as the safety of our customers.
