Downtown Poulsbo Parking Enforcement

Introduction

The City of Poulsbo has contracted with LAZ parking to begin enforcing timed parking in downtown Poulsbo starting Saturday, November 1, 2025. The new system is designed to improve access to downtown businesses, ensure parking turnover for visitors, and support the vitality of Poulsbo’s historic district.

“By enforcing time limits and creating designated employee parking areas, we are ensuring that downtown visitors can more easily find parking and enjoy everything Poulsbo has to offer. For the first time in the city’s history, we are also providing dedicated and flexible parking options specifically for downtown employees—recognizing their vital role in supporting our businesses while keeping customer spaces available.”  –  Mayor Erickson

Why Parking Enforcement?

Over the years, downtown Poulsbo has grown as a regional destination for dining, shopping, and waterfront activities. At the same time, more employees and residents are parking long-term in customer spaces. The result has been limited turnover in key areas, making it harder for visitors to find parking. Implementing enforcement ensures fair use of shared parking and supports local businesses by keeping customer stalls available.  For more on what led the city council to this decision, visit the Poulsbo Planning and Economic Development Department’s – Parking Implementation Page or the Downtown Parking Advisory Committee Page.
