Update April 2024

The Downtown Parking Advisory Committee met on April 15, 2024 to complete the discussion of the Downtown Parking Implementation phase recommendations to Council.  The recommendations will be presented at the May 15, 2024 City Council Meeting.  The presentation from the meeting can be viewed HERE.     The meeting minutes are posted below under “Minutes”.

Update – February 2024

The Downtown Parking Advisory Committee met on February 20, 2024 to further discuss and prioritize the Downtown Parking Implementation phase.  The committee invited HDPA (Historic Downtown Poulsbo Association) representative Brenda Yates to present the HDPA Parking Study results.  This presentation can be viewed HERE. The committee will recommend the next steps to City Council for consideration.  The Advisory Committee received public input on the parking study at the meeting.  The meeting minutes are posted below under “Minutes”

Update – November 2023

The City of Poulsbo Downtown Parking Advisory Committee held its final meeting with Walker Consultants on November 6, 2023.  The goal of this meeting was to review Walker Consultants’ final Implementation and Action Plan – the results of the study.  An action plan was presented for 6 months, 18 months, mid-term and long-term.  The final report and Committee recommendations will be presented at City Council Workshop on December 6, 2023.  The final plan can be reviewed using the link below under “Reports”.  The meeting presentation can be viewed HERE.

Update – September 2023

The City of Poulsbo Downtown Parking Advisory Committee held its 3rd meeting with Walker Consultants on September 14, 2023. The objective of this meeting was to create a plan for action.  Walker Consultants presented solutions for the short term, medium term and long term that aligns with the Parking Committee’s Vision and Guiding Principles.  The Advisory Committee will finalize its recommendation path to best realize their Vision and present their recommendations to City Council. Update – August 2023

The City of Poulsbo Downtown Parking Advisory Committee held its 2nd meeting with Walker Consultants on July 27, 2023.  The purpose of this meeting was to review the data collected by Walker Consultants during their visits to Poulsbo in June 2023.  A discussion was held regarding the existing parking conditions in the City.  Walker Consultants has prepared an Existing Conditions Analysis report that is available for viewing using the link below under “Reports”. Update – June 2023

The City of Poulsbo Downtown Parking Advisory Committee held its kickoff meeting with Walker Consultants on June 13, 2023.  The purpose of the meeting was to get to know all the team members. Introduce the project scope, schedule and core objectives. A discussion was held about a community engagement and collaboration plan and to build a shared vision of success for the project and draw out concerns.  It was a very productive meeting. Next to come is a community parking survey to get feedback on current parking in Poulsbo and what our community would like to see for future parking solutions in Poulsbo.

Downtown Parking Advisory Committee

The City of Poulsbo has convened a Downtown Parking Committee (DPC).  This advisory committee of citizens includes merchants, landowners, Planning Commission members and City Council members who will work together to evaluate downtown parking needs and solutions.  The DPC will review previous parking studies and work to develop a Request for Proposal in order to hire a consultant to assist the committee with evaluating current needs and solutions to our downtown parking availability.

The first meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9th, 2023 at 5:00 pm, in Poulsbo City Hall Council Chambers. The schedule of 4 additional meetings will be established by the committee on Feb. 9th.

The first meeting will be a discussion surrounding the history of parking in downtown Poulsbo and a draft request for proposal to hire a parking expert to study our current and future parking availability.  A copy of previous studies is provided below:

The City of Poulsbo has selected a consultant for the Downtown Parking Study.  The project and contract was awarded to Walker Consultant in the amount of $39,980.00
