Poulsbo Parks and Recreation is taking registrations for all athletes, with teams hitting the courts mid-March, as they form. Games will start in mid-late April. Spring basketball games will be jointly conducted with SKYAA, a South Kitsap youth organization. There will be divisions for boys and girls at grades 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Officiated games are played during weekday evenings in NK, CK and SK gyms. All girls teams and 3-4 and 5-6 grade boys will use the 28.5” ball. 7-8 grade boys will use the regulation, official size ball. 3-4^th grade teams play at 9’hoop height.

Volleyball: Intramural Spring 2026 Girls Recreational League: Girls, Grades 5-8

Registration is open! Coaches and Interested Adults needed! This league is for the non-school and non-club players…an intramural league to improve skills and provide competition.

Spring volleyball through Poulsbo Parks and Recreation! We will be drawing players from the NK and CK areas. Most practices will be held Tuesday and Friday at Poulsbo Middle School. There will be 7 matches per team, held on Saturdays at Poulsbo Middle School, starting late April and going through June 6^th. There may be some travel required to gyms on Bainbridge Island and in Central Kitsap.

I expect we will need coaches to operate teams for Spring League Volleyball. We will be taking registrations Feb and March, with the hopes of having sufficient players to form 4-6 teams. We will have open gyms Tuesdays and Fridays, March 17, 20, 24 and 27, and form up teams over the weekend of March 27-30. For all adults; if you or someone you know would be interested in coaching a team, please get in touch with me! We are losing some coaches as their children advance beyond intramural to school ball and club ball. We need interested and enthusiastic adults to lead teams!! Any questions, Contact  EMAIL. Coaching is a very rewarding experience, often doing more for the coach than they ever expect!!

Open gyms will be held so coaches can effectively load teams with equal talent. Teams will be a combination of 5^th thru 8^th grade girls, reflecting player/family requests and the need to balance the overall skill level and ages of the girls for the teams.

Did you know? The outdoor sports court at the Recreation Center is painted with pickleball court lines and is available for rent. The fee is $5 per hour and it may be reserved Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-1:30 pm. The reservation fee includes use of our pickleball net, racquets and balls.
